55Competitors are always dreaded. People just run away from competitors. Sometimes, they find competitors so hard, they change businesses. But, there are some positive concepts about competitors that can make your business powerful and successful. Here is a list of how you can make use of your competitors to plan a business strategy that can't loose. This is what we call strategic management!
1) Make sure you have competitors: When a business doesn't have competitors, it's not a business. Well that's what my point of thinking is. Business should have competitors because they show you where you lack and where have you dug the holes you yourself will fall in. Competitors are something that makes your business shine out. Without competitors, people won't compare your business with anyone else and they will accept you the way they are. Changes won't be welcome then.
2) You have a chance to win the public price: When cost of production of goods increases, companies and business houses are forced to give a price rise. In this case, you have a chance to cross cut them and win public by providing goods at price they want. This happens when your company has established a quality standard in market. No one but will know that the good you are selling have a slight decrease in quality but is making you high profit (and that's important).The change in quality is so small that the consumers just don't see any change, nor does it harm them. I would want to write more about this in coming posts.
3) Capturing the market with comparison: When you have competitors you have a chance to make comparison before public about how your product is better compared to your competitor (Apple and Microsoft always do this, and it's their business strategy. I think they have had a negotiation for this as both are benefiting from this). Comparison can even be done between your own competing products. This helps too!
4) The happiness of winning over a competitor: The last benefit of winning over a competitor is that you will have a new market presence. When people will name you they will only talk about how well you put your competitors down to earth and captured the market. Let people see you are the best among your competitors. To me, I think shutting off your competitors is the best benefit of having them. They increase your credit and fear in the market. The result is that you win!
More profit, more reputation, more fear and a way for long innovation. This is how competitors can be used to sore your business. Though, there are many more ideas, I think it's time I finish this. I will be writing more in next hub.
